The Civil Parish of Satley (not to be confused with the ecclesiastical Parish of the Church of England with its Parochial Church Council or PCC) is located in the north-west of County Durham accessed mainly via the B6296 road which links the A68 to the south near Tow Law and the A691 in Lanchester to the north.  The Parish comprises the village of Satley, together with the hamlets of East and West Butsfield to the north-west, with High Stoop to the south and Salter's Gate to the west of the A68.

Population 280 as per 2021 Census (256 - 2010 Census)

Local Facilities

Mobile Post Office - Tuesday afternoon 1600-1630 outside the Parish Hall. St Cuthbert's Church, Satley.

3 Community Public Access Defibrillators located at: the Parish Hall, 

the Young Farmers' Building Elsdon Lodge at West Butsfield and at 

Hall Hill Farm respectively.
